Detail of Work.

This is a recent work done with oils and chalk. The
11x14 was painted from an old photograph. The lighting was heavily cast in tungsten yellow. The background was cluttered, but the photo had real potential. Sometimes candid snapshots make wonderful art!

We offer scanning of photos and nearly any photo can be painted.
Each piece is unique and takes on a personality of it's own.
This painting was created from a photograph I took during a
family photo session.

Some works take as little as three to four hours and others consume an entire day, depending on the lighting
of the original photo and the number of subjects in the photograph.
Photographs are sent in from all over the United States. Each
is individually painted by James using either the background
in the photo or a complimentary pastel background that
enhances the subject.
It is difficult to see the brush strokes in the images presented on the Web, due to constraints of size and page load times. If you would like to see full size images with brush stroke detail you are welcome to email your request.
This image was sent to us from Illinois and was a scan of only 37KB. With up-rezzed the image to an 11x14 and produced this
adorable watercolor.
Here we combined a senior portrait with an old baby photo to create an heirloom art piece for AMR Photography in Toledo Ohio.
Special friends and friendships will be remembered for a lifetime when transformed to one-of-a-kind paintings from your photographs or digital files.
This colorful photo taken during the fall has special meaning for Nancy who recently lost her little poodle.
We specialize in natural senior portraits that bring the personality of the individual forward. This is an example of a 16x20 painting created from one of the session photos.
Cute little girl from Detroit had her school picture transformed with permission of the photographer.
